A new team took over Darlingtons a little while back. It has taken a while to establish the new eatery name, but it was decided to really celebrate the beautiful buildings that are here at the Heart of the Shires Shopping Village.
Next time you are here, have a close look at the way the buildings were built, particularly the brickwork. The local stonemasons here were very creative back in 1867. You will see on the gable end of one of the barns, 1867 clearly visible. Introducing The 1867.
Those of you that have been to the eatery lately will have seen the internal changes and thank you all for your lovely comments. The menu is very much the same, just with a few tweaks, so rest assured your favourites are still here. The 1867 will be introducing breakfast soon, from 9.30am, and an extra 1867 ‘alternatives menu’ too. Although renowned for a range of beautiful cakes, there have had numerous requests for ‘afternoon tea’ – don’t worry, that is coming too.
They are a friendly bunch at The 1867 so please feel free to pop in, relax and enjoy your stay.
It does get very busy between 11.30-2.30pm every day so please be patient if you have to wait for a seat – or you can reserve a table. Just call 01327 342284 and speak to one of the team.
If there is a particular area you would like to sit in The 1867 will do their best to accommodate – the green room, the copper room, the quiet room or out on the covered patio area.
