For a long time a lot of visitors have requested extra capacity and extra choice at Heart of the Shires. We have now achieved this with The Tea Room (in the farmhouse) and The Tea Room Too (in the newly extended area).
Following this move we received this review (on TripAdvisor)
A lovely welcome and wheelchair-friendly
We took my 90-year-old, wheelchair-using mother here on a Sunday morning. She had a brilliant time. The Tea Room was completely full but The Tea Room Too had plenty of room. A member of staff saw us approaching with a wheelchair and ran to hold the door open for us. There was plenty of room between the tables and no steps to get the chair over. There was an impressive array of cakes of all sorts plus sandwiches and paninis. Everything we ordered was delicious and the staff could not have been more hospitable.
After our cafe visit, we went into The Plant Barn. Again, there were no steps and plenty of room for the wheelchair. The staff were friendly and helpful, pointing out the lift and an alternative exit as well as advising me on my purchases. The plants on sale all looked lush and healthy. I’m not much of a gardener, so I don’t have an informed view on prices – they seemed ok to me. There is a lot more to see in the shopping village and I’m sure we will be back. It was an ideal location for a trip out for my Mum but I’d go back for a browse around by myself.
